How We Work

The 3 Pillars of
Data-Driven Success

A clear framework for reliable, data-driven success. Complex analytics projects don't have to feel complex.

Creative Data Engineers applies a three-pillar framework to every analytics engagement: Data Foundation (reliable tracking and clean data collection), Data Governance (documented standards and clear ownership), and Data Literacy (team enablement through training and data storytelling). The framework was developed over 16+ years of enterprise projects and defines exactly how we plan, implement, and hand over analytics work.

Each pillar strengthens the others. Together they create a sustainable data-driven organization.

Pillar 1

Data Foundation

How and what we track

Every successful analytics journey begins with a strong foundation. We align your business goals with a clear tracking concept and a robust technical architecture. This ensures all digital platforms (websites, apps, and shops) follow the same standards and deliver harmonized, trustworthy data.

What this includes:

  • Definition of business goals & tracking requirements
  • Creation and documentation of your Tracking Concept
  • Design of the Technical Architecture (tools, storage, visualization)
  • Steering of implementation and quality assurance

Result: A single source of truth: reliable, comparable data you can build on.

Pillar 2

Data Governance

How we ensure high data quality

Data Governance creates the structure that keeps your analytics reliable over time. We design clear ownership, define processes and transparent communication for how tracking requests are handled and maintained. This reduces friction, improves accountability, and enables sustainable growth.

What this includes:

  • Governance framework & ownership model
  • Ticketing and sprint integration for tracking requests
  • Quality assurance & refinement workflow
  • Version control & change documentation

Result: Full control, predictable processes, and lasting data quality.

Pillar 3

Data Literacy

How we enable a data-driven culture

Data delivers impact only when people can understand and use it. In the Data Literacy pillar, we empower your teams to connect data with their daily decisions. Through reporting, storytelling, and regular data syncs, analytics becomes an active part of your company culture.

What this includes:

  • Tailored dashboards & automated reporting
  • Monthly Data Syncs to interpret insights together
  • Internal communication: newsletters, blogs, info screens
  • Training & mentoring sessions for departments and managers

Result: Confident teams that read, discuss, and act on data.

Each pillar builds on the previous one, creating a continuous improvement loop that connects people, processes, and technology for measurable impact.

FAQ

Common Questions

What teams ask before starting a consulting engagement.

How long does a typical engagement last?

It depends on the scope. Setting up tracking from briefing to go-live takes a minimum of 8 weeks, depending on development resources, whether other agencies are involved, and whether we have access to GTM. When the datalayer is already set up and we have GTM access, things move faster. A full Data Foundation build runs 6-12 months. You can also purchase our Standard Tracking Concept as a standalone deliverable and implement at your own pace.

Do you work on-site or remotely?

Remotely. We work with clients across Europe. Meetings happen over video, deliverables are shared digitally, and time zones have never been a blocker. If a project requires an on-site workshop or kickoff, we arrange it, but the default mode is remote.

How do you hand over to our internal team?

Every deliverable is built for handover from the start. Data Foundation work includes fully fledged dev tickets with acceptance criteria that your engineering team picks up directly. Data Governance includes process documentation and ownership models. Data Literacy includes training sessions and tailored dashboards your team uses independently. The goal is that you run it without us.

Do you train our team on the tools and dashboards you build?

Yes. Data Literacy is the third pillar of our framework. We build tailored dashboards, set up automated reporting, and run monthly Data Syncs where teams learn to read, discuss, and act on the data. We also run training sessions for specific departments or managers who need to go deeper.
